The performance Body Dialogue by Youness Khoukhou will be presented in the form of an installation. Due to delays in the visa procedures for the dancers there was insufficient rehearsal time for a presentation during the festival.
The dancer and choreographer Youness Khoukhou gives the relationship between the body and its immediate environment a central place in his work. In the ‘Body Dialogue’ performance pathway, together with four young dancers from Meknès and Casablanca, he explores the human body as an inexhaustible source of information, and as an image that simply needs to be deciphered. When developing the physical material, Youness Khoukhou works on the theme of the body, which holds on to, shapes and passes on energy, thus creating a pathway to the imagination.
Performance as part of 'Objets chorégraphiques':
Researching, sharing, experimenting and passing-on are the four core words of the project Objets chorégraphiques. The project, which was initiated by Espace Darja, is a platform supported by a number of partners in Morocco and by Moussem Nomadic Arts Centre, linked to an international network.
In the context of this platform, the choreographers Meryem Jazouli, Taoufiq Izeddiou, Radouan Mriziga and Youness Khoukhou engage in a joint project and create a number of different performance pathways with some sixteen young dancers from Morocco.
